Meet the experienced and friendly doctors who make Reinholt & Thallemer Eye Care Associates a proud provider of vision care products and services in Northern Indiana.
Dr. Mitchell Reinholt is a Warsaw native who returned to his hometown in 2013 to join Reinholt & Thallemer Eye Care Associates and later became the sole owner of the practice in 2021. He is proud to continue the legacy of high-quality, patient-centered eye care that has served the community for decades.
Dr. Reinholt graduated from Warsaw Community High School before completing his undergraduate studies at Indiana University. He earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Indiana University School of Optometry in 2013 and was inducted into the Beta Sigma Kappa Honors Society.
He is an active member of the American Optometric Association and the Indiana Optometric Association, and locally participates in the Warsaw Breakfast Optimist Club and the Kosciusko Chamber of Commerce. He is a board member at the Wagon Wheel Center for the Arts and serves as an elder at Warsaw Community Church.
Dr. Reinholt enjoys caring for patients of all ages and values taking time to educate patients and build long-term relationships. Outside of the office, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Lindsay, and their two children, Winter and Archer. He and his family enjoy sports, travel, cooking, and family game nights.
Dr. Rachel Johnson has been caring for patients at Reinholt & Thallemer Eye Care Associates since 2002 and enjoys providing comprehensive eye care for patients of all ages. Her goal is to help patients achieve excellent vision and lifelong ocular health so they can focus on what matters most.
A lifelong Warsaw resident, Dr. Johnson graduated from Warsaw Community High School and completed her undergraduate education at Arizona State University and the University of Tennessee at Martin. She earned her Doctor of Optometry degree with honors from the University of Missouri–St. Louis School of Optometry in 1996.
Before joining the practice, Dr. Johnson provided pre- and post-surgical eye care and specialty contact lens services with Corneal Consultants of Indiana / Price Vision Group. She is an active member of the American Optometric Association and the Indiana Optometric Association.
Dr. Johnson is married to Dr. Matt Johnson, a local chiropractor and founder of Johnson Chiropractic. They have four sons, a daughter-in-law, and a sweet granddaughter. They are active members of Winona Lake Grace Brethren Church. In her free time, she enjoys running, cycling, reading, kayaking, snorkeling, and spending time with family and friends.
Dr. Bradley Basham is a native of South Bend, Indiana, and enjoys building meaningful relationships with his patients while providing thorough, compassionate eye care. He completed his undergraduate studies at Indiana University South Bend before earning his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Indiana University School of Optometry in Bloomington, where he was inducted into the Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society.
Dr. Basham is a member of the American Optometric Association, Indiana Optometric Association, and Northeast Indiana Optometric Association. He has participated in optometric mission trips to underserved areas in Mexico and Honduras and volunteers locally at Matthew 25 Health Clinic in Fort Wayne.
He believes strongly in protecting and preserving the gift of vision through preventative care and patient education. Dr. Basham is married to his wife, Teresa, and they have two adult children and two grandchildren. He is active at Blackhawk Ministries in Fort Wayne and enjoys travel, backpacking, fishing, skiing, cooking, reading, and spending time with family.
Dr. Joseph Thallemer practiced optometry in Warsaw for over four decades before retiring from clinical practice in April 2026. He earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Indiana University School of Optometry and completed residency training at a Veterans Administration Outpatient Clinic in Los Angeles in conjunction with the Southern California College of Optometry.
Throughout his career, Dr. Thallemer was known for his commitment to patient care and for building lasting relationships with the families he served. His impact on the practice and the community continues to be felt through the foundation he helped establish.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Thallemer was deeply involved in community service, including serving on the YMCA Board of Directors and the Warsaw City Council for more than a decade. He is a longstanding member of both the Indiana Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association.
Dr. Thallemer is married to his wife Jill, and together they have four children who are now pursuing their professional careers. While Dr. Thallemer is no longer seeing patients, his legacy continues through the care provided by Dr. Reinholt and the team at Reinholt & Thallemer Eye Care Associates.
